<p>Denoting Flying miniatures have always been a home-brewed effect. A clear water bottle cap or an old film case while effective, just don’t seem on par with the rest of one’s table gear. </p>
<p>So, imagine Ben’s happiness when he spotted a tiny side-bar ad in Dungeon Magazine (the old-school print version) featuring <a href="http://bensrpgpile.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/wacky_wizard.jpg" title="Dr. Wizard’s" rel="lightbox" rel="lightbox[295]" target="_blank"> <span style="color: #666666;">Dr. Wizard’s</span></a> Patented Elevation Indicator. Ben met the wacky wizard inventor at <a title="Gen Con" href="http://www.gencon.com/2009/indy/default.aspx" target="_blank"> <span style="color: #666666;">Gen Con</span></a> and quickly snagged crystal clear tube. </p>
<p>This <a href="http://bensrpgpile.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/elevation_indicator.jpg" title="Elevation Indicator" rel="lightbox" rel="lightbox[295]" target="_blank"> <span style="color: #666666;">three-inch tall rod</span></a> stands inside a gaming grid square or hex and can hold a regular-sized miniature on top. The elevation of the character can be indicated by moving a set of bands up and down on the numbers on the rod. Add-bases for larger figs are also available.</p>
<p>It’s simple. It’s effective. It’s perfect.</p>
